Grind them in a coffee grinder or small mason jar with your standard screw on blender base. Sprinkle on your breakfast grain or cereal. It has a pleasant, nutty flavor with a hint of hazelnut. Flax seeds are chemically stable while whole. Ground flax seed can go rancid at room temperature, so grind just what you need at the moment, and store any extra in the refrigerator and consume with in a week.

You will receive one full ounce of aroma beads in a pretty ivory sachet. These beads are really amazing! They can really absorb fragrance oils! These are great to place in cars, closets, drawers, cupboards, windows, laundry rooms, any place that needs a little freshening up. These would be great for wedding receptions favors, graduations, baby showers. Occasionally the beads need to be shaken to refresh and release the scent. Heat and air circulation are what make the scent throw into the air. I have mine placed near my heater vent in my car, and it works wonderfully. Do place your sachet in a pretty dish or hang up as the oils can stain surfaces. Do not use these in a tart warmer or potpourri burner as the beads can melt.

Beet and Mead Chutney by Chef Mike ShetharGrower: Nash's Organic Produce

- 2 medium sized Nash’s beets (1 Detroit/Chiogga and 1 Golden)
- 2 oz Washington State Honey Mead
- 1 Clove garlic
- 2 oz champagne vinegar
- 2 T white sugar
- 2 T brown sugar -
Scrub beets with veggie brush, and trim the greens and stem. Shred, mince or julienne the beets into a thick bottomed sauce pan with the vinegar. Add garlic and cook together until aromatic and steaming. Add Mead, and then sugar. Cook down uncovered until the liquid has mostly absorbed or evaporated. Test for taste and consistency. Cool for 24 hours before serving.

- 2 Med. Nash's Beets (1 Detroit/Chiogga and 1 Golden)
- 4 Med. Nash's Sunchokes
- 4 oz Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1 oz Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- 4 ounces whole-milk plain yogurt
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon chopped fresh mint
- 1 Washington Apple
- 4 oz Simple Syrup (2 oz water, 2 oz sugar, heated) -
Slice apples very thin, approx 1/16", with a mandolin or peeler. Place on non stick baking sheet, (silpat if possible) and brush with a light coat of simple syrup. Bake at 275 F until dry and crisp.
Drain yogurt, and mix with garlic and mint. Cool in fridge.
Wrap beets in foil coated in 1 oz of olive oil and bake at 425 F for approx. 1 1/4 hours, or until tender when pierced by a knife. Peel beets. Dice beets and sunchokes (skin on) about 1/4" dice and toss with olive oil, cider vinegar and fennel seeds. Season with salt and pepper.
Spoon beet salad on top of apple chip, with a small amount of yogurt dressing on top. Garnish with a fennel frond.
